About The Founder
Joe Bedford is the President and founder of PRISM Software, an upstate NY based Software Engineering company. Joe’s company provides senior level IT consulting resources such as Software Developers, Network Engineers, Database Administrators, Chemical Engineers, Linux and Windows Systems Administrators, etc. to Fortune 500 companies.
Joe’s team also has extensive experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting High Performance Computing and Data Center Infrastructure environments. Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Molecular Modeling, Hadoop Clusters, and Parallel Programming are a few areas of expertise within HPC. Virtualization, Converged and Hyperconverged Infrastructures, Fiber Channel and Network-based Storage Area Networks are a few areas of expertise within the Enterprise.
Prior to starting PRISM Software over 25 years ago, Joe worked in various Research and Development groups within the Science and Technology Division at IBM in Endicott, NY for almost 10 years. As an Engineer with IBM, Joe has been involved with Compiler Development as well as CPU design, Test Generation and Simulation for a number of IBM’s mainframe processors.
Joe holds a BS degree in Computer Science and an MBA in Finance from the University of Scranton. He has traveled extensively and lived throughout Asia and continues to study Mandarin, Japanese, and Tagalog. In his spare time, he practices the art of making dry red wines using grapes from Chile and California.
